Activated Carbon (Carbon Facial) What the black lotion in a carbon facial actually does, adsorbing oil and debris, then acting as a target for the Q-switched laser, and why the carbon, not the laser, is what makes the treatment a ‘peel’. Exosomes Cell-free signalling vesicles used in regenerative skin and scalp treatments, what they are, where they come from, what the evidence actually says, and how we apply them. Glycolic Acid The smallest alpha hydroxy acid and the classic resurfacer, how depth is controlled, the 15% and 35% strengths we use, and why two hours of Jaipur sun cancels a medium peel. PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) The salmon-DNA repair active, fragments of DNA that switch on the skin’s own regeneration through the adenosine A2A receptor. What it is, how we infuse it, and the fish-allergy rule. Pumpkin Enzymes (Enzyme Peels) Exfoliation by protein-digesting enzymes rather than acid, how a pumpkin peel works at the skin’s own pH, why it is one of only two peels our rules allow in pregnancy, and where it beats a glycolic on reactive Jaipur skin. Salicylic Acid The only common peel acid that dissolves in oil, which is why it clears pores from the inside. The 20% and 30% peels, the spot rule for active acne, and the aspirin-allergy question. Microdermabrasion Mechanical exfoliation with a diamond tip or crystal stream and vacuum, where the older workhorse still beats hydradermabrasion (thick skin, body), and where it does not. Microneedling & RF Microneedling Controlled micro-injury that makes the dermis rebuild, plain needling at 1.5 mm, and the RF version that delivers heat through the needle tips to remodel scars and pores on darker skin safely.
