Ingredients & Actives We Use at AI Aesthetics, Jaipur

Every facial, peel and IV drip at AI Aesthetics is built from a short, named list of actives — not a mystery blend. This hub explains each one: what it is, how it works in the skin or the body, why we chose it, what Jaipur’s climate does to the equation, and who should skip it.

Read these before a consultation if you like to understand your treatment, or after one if you want to know why a particular active was selected for you. Every page links to the treatments where we actually use the ingredient, and every treatment page links back here.

Ingredients & Actives We Use at AI Aesthetics, Jaipur — Facial and skin treatment room at AI Aesthetics, C-Scheme, Jaipur

Every active, explained

Glutathione The body’s master antioxidant — what it is, why it is sold for skin brightening, how we actually use it (IV, infusion, topical) and who should skip it. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) Collagen cofactor, antioxidant and tyrosinase brake — the three forms we use (IV, infusion serum, topical), why stability matters, and who must not have high-dose IV. Exosomes Cell-free signalling vesicles used in regenerative skin and scalp treatments — what they are, where they come from, what the evidence actually says, and how we apply them. PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) The salmon-DNA repair active — fragments of DNA that switch on the skin’s own regeneration through the adenosine A2A receptor. What it is, how we infuse it, and the fish-allergy rule. Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) Why B12 is in our energy and hair drips, why so many Jaipur vegetarians are low in it, the oral-absorption problem IV solves, and the acne side effect nobody mentions. N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) The glutathione precursor — a modified amino acid that lets your cells make their own master antioxidant, with a long hospital record. Why it pairs with glutathione, and the asthma caution. Hyaluronic Acid The skin’s own water-binding molecule — why molecular weight decides what it does, the infusion, booster and filler forms we use, and the Jaipur dry-air mistake almost everyone makes with it. Tranexamic Acid The melasma active that came from surgery — a lysine lookalike that blocks the plasmin pathway linking sun to pigment. Routes, evidence, the clotting caution, and how we infuse it. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) The quiet multitasker — barrier builder, pore refiner, pigment-transfer blocker and anti-inflammatory in one — plus the two myths about it that refuse to die. Kojic Acid A fermentation by-product that ties up the copper in tyrosinase — the classic brightening acid, its place in our whitening peel, and why it can sensitise skin if misused. Arbutin (Alpha-Arbutin) Hydroquinone’s gentler cousin — a sugar-bound molecule that inhibits tyrosinase without the risks that made hydroquinone prescription-only. Alpha vs beta, peel strengths, and who should skip it. Salicylic Acid The only common peel acid that dissolves in oil — which is why it clears pores from the inside. The 20% and 30% peels, the spot rule for active acne, and the aspirin-allergy question. Glycolic Acid The smallest alpha hydroxy acid and the classic resurfacer — how depth is controlled, the 15% and 35% strengths we use, and why two hours of Jaipur sun cancels a medium peel. Lactic Acid The AHA that hydrates while it exfoliates — part of the skin’s own moisturising factor, the lead acid in our Party Peel, and the one we keep when sensitive Jaipur skin cannot take the rest. Mandelic Acid The largest, slowest alpha hydroxy acid — the safest peel for darker skin, with an anti-acne edge from its oil-friendly ring. Why our engine refuses to pick it just because it is safe. Azelaic Acid One molecule for acne, redness and post-acne marks — a grain-derived acid that quiets bacteria, inflammation and only the overactive pigment cells. Our pregnancy-safe brightener. Retinol & Retinaldehyde The vitamin A family and the conversion chain that decides how strong each form is — why retinaldehyde is our preferred step, the 24-hour rule before peels and lasers, and the pregnancy line we never cross. Licorice Extract (Glabridin) A root extract that brightens and calms at the same time — glabridin blocks tyrosinase without harming pigment cells while glycyrrhetinic acid soothes. The calming partner in our Whitening Peel and marks serum. Activated Carbon (Carbon Facial) What the black lotion in a carbon facial actually does — adsorbing oil and debris, then acting as a target for the Q-switched laser — and why the carbon, not the laser, is what makes the treatment a ‘peel’. Ceramides The waxy lipids that make up half the mortar between your skin cells — what they are, why Jaipur’s winters and hard water strip them, and how we rebuild the barrier after peels and lasers. Peptides (Signal, Carrier & Collagen Peptides) Short chains of amino acids that tell skin cells what to do — the three families that actually work, why most of the hype does not survive a size check, and where we use them in lifting infusions, under-eye care and hair serums. Hydroquinone The strongest topical pigment reducer there is, and the most misused — how it blocks tyrosinase, why it is prescription-only, what ochronosis is, and the cycled, doctor-reviewed way we use it for melasma. Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide (Mineral Sunscreen Filters) The two mineral filters in a physical sunscreen — what they actually do to UV (mostly absorb, not reflect), where titanium dioxide falls short on UVA, why iron oxides matter for melasma, and the Jaipur numbers that make sunscreen the most important active on this site. Pumpkin Enzymes (Enzyme Peels) Exfoliation by protein-digesting enzymes rather than acid — how a pumpkin peel works at the skin’s own pH, why it is one of only two peels our rules allow in pregnancy, and where it beats a glycolic on reactive Jaipur skin. Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) The antioxidant that works in both water and fat and recycles the others — how it fits beside glutathione and vitamin C in an IV drip, what it does in a skin-booster, and why it is not a standalone brightener. Squalane & Panthenol The two recovery ingredients in almost every post-treatment cream — squalane, the stable version of your own sebum’s best lipid, and panthenol, the provitamin that speeds barrier repair — what each does, why they pair, and where we use them after lasers and peels.
